GP Practices across Waterlooville are highly committed to working together to improve services for local people. All Practices have joined a new dynamic initiative called the Waterlooville Multi-specialty Community Provider (MCP), which is led by local GPs and is also known as Better Local Care Waterlooville. It is working hard to take forward new ways of working that will provide more joined-up care provided closer to people’s homes.
Better Local Care Waterlooville has a total patient population of 55,496 (as of April 2016) across the Waterlooville area.
A total of five GP Practices sit across the locality, served by one Integrated Community Care Team including District Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and OPMH, alongside several Hampshire wide Specialist Teams and Acute based models of care designed to improve the emergency care pathway. These services are currently commissioned by South East Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
The majority of residents access their emergency and acute care from Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
Within the local area there is provision for ten beds (Step Up and Step down facility) within Edenvale Nursing Home based in Waterlooville. Alongside this patients have access to community beds within Petersfield Hospital including a specialist rehabilitation ward.
