BLC Learning and Sharing Event
The Better Local Care team held an event on Thursday 25 February to provide a networking opportunity for all of the communities that are part of the programme. Staff, managers and volunteers attended the event to share the work that is going on in their areas and to learn about what else is happening under Better Local Care, in other areas. The aim of the event was for everyone to have their chance to share great examples of work that has been taking place in their communities and also so that any collaboration that may be of benefit, could be initiated through this event.
The event was opened by Paul Streat, the newly appointed Development Director for Better Local Care. He spoke to the attendees about the vital work they have already been doing and the need for this to spread at pace and scale, across the other communities within the South Hampshire geography, so that all the people within these communities see the benefits of a Better Local Care approach.
Some of the attendees were even kind enough to do a quick interview on camera, about how Better Local Care is already benefiting people in their communities.
The event was held at The New Place Hotel in Southampton. Approximately 70 people attended the event from both Health, Social and voluntary sectors and the feedback we had on the day was very positive; everyone seemed to really value the opportunity to speak to their colleagues from across all of the emerging local communities. Due to the great success; there is already planning underway for similar workshops to take place soon so watch this space for more details!
If you attended the event and you have any comments or feedback – or you met someone you really want to talk to again but didn’t have a chance to swap details, please get in touch.
